Nepalese Canadian Association of Ottawa (NCAO) - Concept Logo
Having worked with the organization's standard logo for event flyers and other marketing for a number of years, I discovered it was difficult to incorporate it in any meaningful way. While the logo has good design for banners and letterheads, it's difficult to read, recreate, and resize in other forms. In order to solve these issues, I designed a new logo for the organization in the same spirit as the original - bringing Nepalese and Canadian symbols together in harmony. I took this concept further by taking the colour and design elements of the Nepalese flag and the familiar Canadian maple leaf and marrying them together so that the leaf is treated like the Nepali sun or moon - much like how members of NCAO have adopted Canada as their home. The fusion reflects not only the organization's goals, but also the lifestyles that its members lead.
