Nepali-American Society for Oppressed Community - Concept LogoI was asked to design for a logo for the Nepali-American Society for Oppressed Community (NASO). I came up with two similar designs that use the same ideas. They both use the American symbol of the star, chains to represent oppression, and the broken link representing the organization's ultimate goal of freeing people from that oppression. The metallic treatment further emphasizes the chain analogy, where the golden elements show a bright, rich future. In the badge-style design (top), the chains hang below. Mirroring them are the stars of tomorrow, placed high above. The second design explains the NASO acronym while using the O as a part of the chain. This presents some really interesting ideas, but it develops the problem of having poor scalability and readability. |
