CFFN Logo

Yuba Sanchar - Official Logo

Yuba Sanchar is a youth-driven radio program produced by Canada Foundation for Nepal. I wanted the main anchor for this logo to centre on an A-shape for two reasons: 1) A is associated with things that are first (for example, Yuba is the first CFFN radio show) and 2) A is associated with quality (A-grade, A-class, A+). Once I chose to use a radio tower (for obvious reasons), I was going to use the tower as the A in yubA, but upon further reflection, I decided to think about the purpose of this radio endeavour - to broadcast to everyone. When broadcasting in a mountainous region, the physical land might block signals, depriving some people from being able to capture it... so the best place would be to broadcast from the top of a mountain, hence the tower's position atop a mountainous terrain. A peak is suggested between the mountain terrain and two of the supports of the tower. From here, the signals emanate from the centre and trickle down on everyone. The youth, or yuba, are the mountain, supporting this endeavour.

The broadcast signals themselves reflect the signals in the CFFN Radio logo.

Evolution

Logo Concept 1
The logo started as being the same logo as CFFN Radio was using. Once several other radio programs began to develop, it was important to separate the two.
