Our DNA is 99.9% Identical - Acrylic paint, masonite, microviewers, 2002Small thing: big difference is the general theme to this artwork. What smaller thing makes a bigger difference than DNA? All DNA in humanity is about 99.9% identical, yet we have so many different traits, some of which people today are still discriminated against or are prejudged about. This artwork shows that though we may look different on the outside – shown with human figures with different skin tones and heights – deep down we are all essentially all the same. The smallest changes at the genetic level dramatically change one’s appearance. You can see this through the three microscopes.
