In the Jungle - Acrylic paint, masonite, 2002

This is part of a three-panel art project placed in the library at Sir Robert Borden High School. The three pieces revolve around reading and nature. This painting, in the style of Henri Rousseau, shows how a book can take you to faraway, exotic places.

This particular artwork had a lot of preparation, where I sketched elements using different media on different textures in order to see what worked the best. Below you will find some of those sketches.
