In My Head - Tempra, mayfair, 2000

I was given very specific direction with this particular artwork. Here, I was to start with a self-portrait, and then have elements of my personality burst out of that portrait. I chose to focus on the characters that I had been developing around the same time (upper left, representative also of friendship, as most of the characters are based on friends), my then-obsession with Skittles, music, videogames (in this case, Pokemon is represented with Goldeen and the Gym badges), and artistic expression, which is represented by a hot air balloon. This is a deliberate call back to an artwork that I had done a year before.
